Gita Jayanti

Gita Jayanti marks the divine appearance day of the Śrīmad Bhagavad Gita, the sacred dialogue spoken by Lord Śrī Krishna (Ananda Govinda) to Arjuna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra. On this auspicious day, the eternal wisdom of the Gita illuminated the world, guiding humanity toward dharma, devotion, and self-realization.
The Bhagavad Gita is not merely a scripture—it is the compassionate voice of Ananda Govinda Himself, revealing the path of bhakti (loving devotion), karma (selfless action), and jnana (spiritual knowledge). Through its 700 verses, Lord Krishna teaches how to live a life centered on surrender, faith, and divine love while remaining engaged in worldly duties.
Gita Jayanti is traditionally observed on the Ekadashi of the bright fortnight in the month of Margashirsha. Devotees celebrate this sacred day by:
- Reciting and studying the Bhagavad Gita
- Offering prayers and bhajans to Lord Ananda Govinda
- Reflecting upon Krishna’s teachings and applying them in daily life
- Engaging in seva and spiritual discussions (satsanga)
The Gita reminds us that when the soul surrenders unto Ananda Govinda with devotion and sincerity, He personally guides the devotee across the ocean of material existence. As the Supreme Lord declares:
“Sarva-dharman parityajya mam ekam sharanam vraja”
— “Abandon all varieties of duty and surrender unto Me.”
On this holy occasion of Gita Jayanti, we pray at the lotus feet of Śrī Ananda Govinda that His divine teachings awaken pure devotion in our hearts and lead us on the eternal path of truth, peace, and loving service.
No prior registration/booking is required for this event.
